From Olympic Landscaper to Dressage Breeder – Martin Price Shares the Anmore Story
We were delighted to be featured in the 27 February 2025 issue of Horse & Hound, where our Managing Director, Martin Price, shared the journey that led to the founding of Anmore Dressage.
In the feature, titled “Olympic Landscaper Turned Breeder”, Martin reflects on his early career in landscaping—where he delivered major projects across the UK and abroad, including the London 2012 Olympic Village—and how one horse changed everything.
That horse was Buck, an Irish Sport Horse purchased for Martin’s daughter, Courtney. Their experiences together, from groundwork to competition, sparked a lasting passion. The connection Martin developed with Buck gave him a new appreciation for how horses think, feel, and learn—and ultimately inspired the creation of a purpose-led dressage breeding and training programme.
“I wanted to build on the rewarding response I got developing my relationship with Buck.”
Building a Programme with Purpose
Dressage has always been the discipline that most appealed to Martin. With his eye for detail and passion for movement, it was only natural that the programme he developed would be guided by quality, temperament, and thoughtful training.
Anmore Dressage is built around producing horses that are not only athletic and elegant, but well-prepared for long, happy careers under saddle. That means giving them the right start—calm, consistent, and rooted in good horsemanship.
Horsemanship at the Core
We were especially pleased to see the article highlight Anmore’s growing work in rider education and groundwork, including our clinics in partnership with Jason Webb of Your Horsemanship.
“We’ve recently started working with Jason Webb to improve how horses handle pressure. It’s about giving them the clarity to go out and do the job well.”
These clinics, led by Lisa Wessels, offer riders and horses the chance to build lasting trust, learn practical skills, and create more confident partnerships—whether on the ground or in the saddle.
This feature in Horse & Hound marks a proud moment for Anmore Dressage, and we’re excited to share more of our story with the wider equestrian community.
